1. Banana-Raspberry-Flaxseed Smoothie
Raspberries are loaded with antioxidants, bananas are a premium source of potassium, and flaxseed contains essential omega-3 fatty acids.

Ingredients
1⁄2 ripe banana
125 mL (1⁄2 cup) fresh raspberries

15 mL (1 tbsp) ground flaxseed

125 mL (1⁄2 cup) low-fat milk or milk of your choice (soy, almond, light coconut milk)
125 mL (1⁄2 cup) ice

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients in blender and process until smooth
  2. If it’s too thick, add milk to your liking. Serve and enjoy

2. Green Lemon Smoothie
Kale is the superstar of super foods but its taste can be a bit harsh. Lemon helps cut the grassy flavour and apples add natural sweetness.

Ingredients
6 leaves romaine lettuce, roughly chopped

6 stalks kale, inner ribs removed and roughly chopped
1-2 apples, peeled, cored and chopped

1 lemon, juiced

2 1/2 centimetres (1 inch) fresh ginger, peeled

125 to 250 mL (1⁄2 to 1 cup) water

Instructions
Combine ingredients in blender. Add more water if too thick and puree until smooth

3. Power Berry Smoothie

  1. A sweet and slightly tart way to enjoy a heaping spoon of protein powder.
