Bathing suit season is here, and with that usually comes a renewed focus on your fitness. However, finding time to get to the gym during the summer months can be difficult between work, play and vacations — but that doesn’t mean you can’t get in a quality workout.

There are plenty of things you can do almost anywhere that will help you break a sweat and burn some calories. Try one of these do-anywhere workouts today!

1. Sprint it Out
Sprints are a great way to torch calories in a short period of time. They’re also great because all you need are your sneakers and a watch (or a mobile phone with a timer).

This 25-minute workout will leave you breathless in a short period of time, and you can try this at the park while your kids are playing (but make sure someone is watching them, of course).

Take five minutes to warm up by either walking or jogging at an easy pace. Once you’re loose, do 10 rounds of the following: a 30-second sprint followed by one minute of walking. Finish it off with a five-minute cool-down and stretch.

2. Resist and Persist
Resistance bands are a great tool to add to your workout-anywhere arsenal. They are portable enough to take on a vacation, too.

Resistance bands come in different lengths and tensions to suit your exercise needs. Get a set to hit the major muscle groups while you’re out and about: squats, rows, bicep curls and so much more.

3. Body-weight Workout
Body-weight workouts are not only effective, but they can also be done anywhere and at any time.

Your own body weight provides a good amount of resistance — enough to make your muscles shake and increase your strength over time. Try doing 10 rounds of the following: five push-ups, 10 squats and 15 crunches. You’ll be beat after that!

4. Channel Your Inner Yogi
All you really need is a mobile phone to find new, challenging and toning yoga moves. There are several different yoga apps available, and yoga is another great way to work out anywhere, because once again, all you need is your own body.

If you’re feeling stressed while on vacation or feeling a little tight from travel, yoga can help both your mind and body relax.

No matter what you’re doing this summer, make sure to sneak in some of these do-anywhere workouts whenever you can! A few minutes each day will make a huge difference.
