How to Clean Microfiber

Clean up your microfiber cloths and towels with our easy tips.

Microfiber is made from small synthetic fibres that can trap tiny particles and clean more effectively than regular cloths. Microfiber cloths and towels also brighten hard-to-clean surfaces. Follow our tips to wash your microfiber.

Laundering Tips

  • Vigorously shake cloth to remove debris. If wet, rinse and wring out the cloth with hot water, making sure no soap remains. Air dry.
  • Wash microfiber in the washing machine on the hottest setting. This will remove bacteria and abrasive cleaners after wet, gritty or bacterial cleaning.
  • Be sure to avoid bleach and fabric softener, these items could clog the fibres and deteriorate the cloth.
  • Refrain from washing microfiber with towels, as lint gets embedded in the fabric and reduces effectiveness.
  • Dry with high heat. Do not use a dryer sheet.

Tip: If washed with towels or fabric softener, place the microfiber items into boiling water for 15 minutes to expand the fibres and release the residue.
