A mini vacation can be yours this coming weekend. No need to fret and plan feverishly in order to enjoy a one-of-a-kind weekend with that special someone. Weekend activities can be just as, or even more fun and adventurous than a weeklong holiday. Check these five activities off your bucket list and you can start this very weekend!

1. Spa Retreat
When was the last time you took time to simply relax and let someone else do everything for you? Take a weekend for a spa getaway with your significant other. Get couples massages, sip your favourite drinks at sunset, eat delicious meals and soak in a steamy hot tub while you reconnect with your loved one. This time to think about nothing but yourselves is a great way to recharge and let go of the stresses of life. You’ll feel like a new person when you return home!

2. Scuba Course
If you’ve always wanted to learn to scuba dive but never found the right time, why not do it now? There are numerous schools throughout the country that offer a 1- or 2-day course in scuba diving. You and your significant other will be taught the ins and outs of this adventurous activity and the time spent together learning something new is priceless. You may even make some new friends in your class. With your scuba certification, you can now explore the deep mysteries of ocean life. There is so much beauty here on Earth, and you are now ready to see more than you’ve ever imagined.

3. Bed & Breakfast
Take a drive into the country and spend a rustic weekend at a cozy B & B. The simple charm of a B & B is so much different than the average hotel and will give you and your significant other time to chat about life, breathe the fresh air and enjoy one another’s company. Let the staff prepare homemade breakfasts of scones, muffins and farm-fresh eggs for you. Sit on the patio and enjoy some hot coffee. Take a walk into town and enjoy the local surroundings, shops and eateries. Come evening, you’ll be ready to relax in a big, comfortable bed and do it all over again the next day!

4. Cooking Course
There’s nothing more romantic (and delicious) than cooking an elegant meal with your mate. Plenty of cooking schools and other community and religious centres offer weekend cooking courses and some are even designed with couples in mind. You’ll learn to make savoury suppers and decadent desserts. Cooking with a partner is a great way to build on your cooperation skills, and the reward of creating something amazing will impress you both. Take what you’ve learned home with you and plan to cook together one or two nights a week. You can even start a tradition of inviting friends over and cooking for them. One weekend of training can inspire the inner chef in both of you!

5. Learn Self-defence
Taking a self-defence course is a great way to learn something new and get some unique exercise. You may learn something while you’re at it. Check your community centre to see if they offer any courses that interest you.
