Colour Me: Celosia Orange

Colour Me: Celosia Orange

Follow our 4-step tutorial for a reverse French manicure that’s perfect for spring.

By: Lynnette Hernandez

This month we are seeking inspiration from Pantone’s Celosia Orange — a fiery orange hue perfect for spring. To cool it off a bit, we’ve paired it with deep blue for a reverse French manicure that really stands out.

If you feel confident in your mani skills, you can easily freehand this look. But for the less experienced, using sticker guides or hole reinforcement stickers will help keep your lines looking professional.

What You’ll Need
Bright orange nail polish
Deep blue nail polish
Sticker guides or hole reinforcement stickers
Nail polish remover
Cotton swabs

Instructions

Apply a couple coats of your main colour nail polish. Make sure to wait until the polish has completely dried before moving onto the next step, otherwise the sticker guides could remove some of the polish.

Apply your sticker to each nail facing away from the nail cuticle in a u-shape.

In the second colour of your choice, paint your nails starting closest to the cuticle and moving up the nail. Immediately after applying the colour, slowly remove the guide.

Clean up any extra polish on the skin using a small amount of nail polish remover and a cotton swab. Wait until the second colour has completely dried before applying a clear topcoat.

It's not one of my favorite looks for nails.

I garden as well, I have opted out of painting my nails until my gardening is finished, I have used the orange, and painted the finger nail beside the baby finger with the blue, got alot of compliments.

Oh my.........being an avid gardener, this look would be my nightmare. While I use a classic French Manicure or all covering colour nail polish to cover dirt/discoloration from garden soil, this idea would not work for me. It really looks dirty, dirty..... dirty.
