2 Chic Ways to Wear Leather Pants

2 Chic Ways to Wear Leather Pants

Two different looks — on two different body types — to get you inspired for fall fashion.

By: Sydne Summer

Leather is huge for fall. And one of the easiest ways to wear it is by rocking leather pants. Believe it or not, this look doesn’t just work for models and rock stars. With the right styling, anybody can wear leather pants whether you're petite, pear shaped, tall or plus-size! And while there are plenty of real leather options available, many brands have made affordable (and very real looking!) faux alternatives. Here are two different looks to get you inspired:

Fit is so key when it comes to leather pants. When they are too snug, they can show every single crease. It doesn't work when they're too loose and saggy either. Also, the fabrication is key here. These faux pants run warmer. So if you have a tendency to sweat, pair the pants with a looser blouse to keep cool. I love the play on black and the proportions. The shape of the top covers my tummy and allows for me to feel confident and not to fuss over my clothes throughout the night. Leather in itself gives off a bad girl vibe — in a good way. So you must accessorize with confidence! I like pairing leather with lace, sheer tops, all unique on its own to pull your look together!

Look 2: Sydne Summer, Sydne Style
Leather pants look great with a snug fit, but there is nothing worse then a waistband digging into your hips. That's why I love the comfortable elastic back on these pants. To give leather pants a more polished feel, I often pair them with a blazer. A boyfriend blazer is ideal because the longer style covers your bottom. Just make sure to tuck your top in to avoid looking top heavy. While all black can be incredibly chic, its often fun to contrast the edgy leather with more feminine prints like florals or lace. To lengthen your legs, match your shoes to your pants. You can wear a black bootie or a pointy toe pump for an extra elongating look.

Quick Tip : Balance out skin-tight leather pants with a looser top or boyfriend blazer.
