5 Nighttime Skincare Tips You Can’t Skip This Winter

Keep your skin glowing this winter and wake up looking refreshed with these 5 tips.

Don’t let wintertime put a damper on your glow. Whether it’s the cold winter air, late nights, crazy work hours or just running around with the family, you can fight the elements and wake up looking refreshed with these five easy at-home skincare tips. The trick is to be diligent about it — try creating a quick 10-minute nightly ritual for yourself so you can unwind before bed and treat your skin, too.

1. Properly Clean and Exfoliate
Wake up to brighter, smoother skin by exfoliating two or three times per week. This will remove the dead skin cells that can cause skin to look dull and dry — and it keeps dead skin cells from clogging pores. For a deep cleanse, try Olay Professional ProX Advanced Cleansing System.

2. Don’t Forget to Tone
After cleaning your face, apply toner with a cotton ball before using a moisturizer. It’s important to use toner at night, as it helps keep skin’s moisture levels in balance and further exfoliates.

3. Moisturize Every Night
If there is one thing you can do to keep your skin on track during the winter months, it’s moisturizing properly. The dry, cold air and indoor heating suck the moisture from your skin, so it’s important to replenish it nightly. Olay Professional ProX Hydra Firming Cream will give your skin plumping hydration and help optimize skin’s elasticity and firmness. Remember that moisturizing will work even better when paired with proper exfoliation.

4. Apply Eye Cream Nightly
Puffiness and dark circles — you know these symptoms. The eyes are the first feature to show signs of fatigue, and the busy days or long nights of the season can really tire a person out. Restore your eyes by applying Olay Professional ProX Eye Restoration Complex before bed. You’ll wake up the next morning looking refreshed.

5. Treat Your Eyes with a Cold Eye Mask
This easy at-home treatment will work wonders, and the best part is that it can be done while relaxing in the comfort of your own bed. Turn on some soothing music and sit back with a cool gel eye mask. The cold temperature relieves puffy, tired eyes. Don’t have a gel mask handy? Cut up some cold cucumbers and place them over your eyes for a few minutes. It feels great and helps keep the delicate eye area looking refreshed.

I heard you can skip the toner if you have dry skin. Also if you have patchy spots, apply a very thin layer of Vaseline to the area after moisturizing. It works great for me but the feeling of Vaseline is bothersome. So I do it Before I sleep
