Easy Holiday Party Updos

Easy Holiday Party Updos

Take your look from every day to holiday with these easy and festive updos.

Most of us can agree that holiday parties bring out a little shimmer, sparkle and shine.

But what if you’re going straight from work to the big party – or you have little time to transition from mommy duty to glamour queen? How can you switch up your hair with ease and limited time? Whether you have medium length or short hair, here are a few ideas to get you started.

Roll Up

Don’t let longhaired ladies have all the fun! There are plenty of updos and party-worthy hairstyles to rock this holiday season. If you’re rushing from your desk to the dance floor this year, not to fret – the quick twist is easy to execute and looks like you spent an hour on it.

Materials
You’ll just need bobby pins, hairspray and a sparkly barrette for a little extra fancy.

Instructions

The roll up is part low pony, part chignon.

  1. The prep: If you have naturally curly hair, you’re ready to go. If not, curl with a one-inch iron away from your face so your hair is easier to pin.
  2. Brush your hair very straight and sleek into a low ponytail. Flat iron if you want a seriously straight look or tease the pony for a little mess. Secure with a hair tie.
  3. Roll the hair up – starting with the bottom and up towards the hair tie. Using several pins, anchor the roll.
  4. Now you can add a jewelled accessory or headband and dress this up as much as you want.
  5. Loosen at the crown for more play, and spray for security!

Knotted Pony
If you’re really in a time crunch, this sleek, simple knotted low ponytail is all you need.

  2. Repeat on the other side.
