6 No-heat Hairstyles

Give your hair a break with these 6 no-heat hairstyles.

Whether your hair is naturally curly or stick straight, chances are you use a blow dryer, curling iron or flat iron to put your daily look together. These tools have become so integral to our hair routines that we often forget about the damage they cause.

Thankfully, there are ways to style your hair without bringing the heat. Another bonus? Most of these no-heat hairstyles are done the night so your hair has more time to dry – which makes less work for you in the morning.

Before you start, wash and towel dry as damp locks will work best, and add a tiny bit of anti-frizz or smoothing serum to your ends.

Get Curly Hair

1. Twist and Clip
Separate hair into sections and twist each section tightly. Keep in mind that the smaller each section, the tighter the curl. Coil the twisted section and pin it to the top of your head. Once hair has air dried, remove the clips and separate the strands. Don’t run your fingers through the hair – just toss your hair around so that the curls separate naturally.

2. Rod Rollers
Roll 2.5- to 5-centimetre (1- to 2-inch) sections of damp hair into small, flexible rod rollers. Make sure to wrap the hair away from your face. Once hair has air dried, remove rollers, flip your head over and lightly run your fingers through your hair to break up the curls. If needed, spritz Pantene Airspray Flexible Hold Hairspray for extra hold.

Get Wavy Hair

1. All Bunned Up
Starting with damp hair, flip your head over, twist all hair and roll into a bun at the top of your head. Undo bun once hair has dried for loose waves. Tip: Using Pantene Smooth Frizz Fixing Serum on your damp hair before tying it up can help smooth out flyaways.

2. Braided Waves
Separate damp hair down the middle into two even sections. Braid the sections tightly and finish by fastening the ends with a hair tie. When dry, unbraid your hair and gently separate the waves with your fingers.

Get Straight Hair

1. On a Roll
Divide hair into sections, then roll hair into a couple of large, soft rollers. Once your hair is dry, spray a little Pantene Volume High Lifting Hairspray at the roots, then unroll and brush through hair with a large paddle brush. This will leave your hair straight but with lots of volume.

2. Keep Your Cool
Dry hair upside down using the cold setting of the hair dryer and a round brush. This may take a little more time than with the heat setting, but you will end up with smooth, shiny, straight hair.

Giving your hair a break from the heat can help keep breakage at bay while giving you a chance to shake things up with your daily routine. Which no-heat hairstyle will you try? Let us know in the comments below!
