Summer is long gone and winter is making its way in — but spring has already sprung on the runways. We got the scoop on five chic boho-hair looks you'll see everywhere once the weather starts to warm up — hint: braids are as popular as ever — plus we’ll give you tips on how to work these styles into your routine.

1. Braids Come Undone
While braids on their own are chic and practical, setting damp hair in plaits and taking them down will reveal gorgeous, beachy waves. It’s a win-win multi-tasker — morning braids lead to afternoon waves.

2. Loose Fishtail Braids
There are two types of fishtail braids: the perfect kind without a single stray strand and the effortless, casual cool variety that looks pulled together (not uptight). Slightly undone fishtails with loose pieces framing the face were all over the runways. A single skinny fishtail woven into the side of loose hair looks right on trend, and this imperfect look is easy to achieve on a busy morning.

3. Sophisticated Hair Ornaments
Whether hair is loose, up, straight or undone in messy curls, bejewelled ornaments instantly take your look to the next level. Think of them as an extension of your outfit. If you are going for an ethereal, romantic look, choose flowers: A single flower tucked into a half-up, half-down style is an easy way to adapt this trend. Rocking skinny jeans and heels? Try a funky, jewelled headband, a metallic clip or a thick leather band if simplicity is your style.

4. Short Wavy Hair Slicked Back
Think only long hair is fun? Think again. Short hair can be incredibly versatile. One of our favourite runway looks featured shorter hair with tons of texture slicked back into messy waves. The best hair looks from the runways were part grunge, part polished.

5. Occasion Updos
Have you ever noticed that during those star-studded award shows, there are always one or two young leading ladies wearing stiff, matronly updos that make them look older? These are the opposite. The modern updo trend for spring is loose, effortless and feminine.
