Showers for Your Skin
Cold outdoor temperatures and indoor heating can dry out your skin and cause it to look dull. Start your skin routine by cleaning the skin. First, take showers whenever possible, since repeated baths can dehydrate and irritate skin. Short, warm (not hot) showers are best for your skin. When showering, exfoliate with a washcloth or loofah to help remove dry or dead surface skin cells. However, take care not to scrub the skin, as it can become irritated. After exfoliating, cleanse your body with a moisture-rich cleanser, such as Olay® Body Wash plus Body Butter Ribbons.
Stay Safe
Even though it’s not summer, you're still exposing your skin daily to damaging UVA and UVB rays. It's estimated that the average woman is exposed to 18 hours of combined indoor and outdoor sunlight each week. Often, this sun exposure can come from unexpected sources, such as sitting in front of a window or riding in a car. So even if you're not on the beach, you still need sun protection! Follow these tips for safe skin:
- For any parts of your body that will be exposed to the sun, especially your face, be sure to use a moisturizer with SPF 15. Olay Complete All Day Moisture Lotion – UV Defense filters harmful UVA and UVB sun rays to prevent sunburn.
- Don't forget to apply moisturizer to your neck and neckline — they need moisture and protection, too.
- Routinely apply a lip balm with an SPF of at least 15. When you're ready to dress up your pout, apply a moisturizing lipstick or gloss in place of a heavier matte lipstick.
